Equine

Leading Equine Veterinary Care in Australia

Equine Veterinarians Australia (EVA) is the professional home for veterinarians who work with horses, bringing together a supportive community across all areas of equine practice.

Whether your focus is racing, reproduction, performance, pleasure, or animal welfare, EVA connects you with peers who understand the unique challenges and rewards of working with horses. From private practice to research and industry roles, members benefit from a strong network and a shared commitment to high standards of care.

A key focus of EVA is helping members stay at the forefront of equine veterinary medicine. The group is recognised as Australia’s leading provider of continuing professional development (CPD) for equine practitioners. Members gain access to high-quality learning opportunities, including the renowned Bain Fallon Memorial Lectures, hands-on workshops, state meetings, and sessions within the AVA Conference. These events provide practical knowledge, exposure to leading experts, and valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues.

EVA also plays an important role in supporting and representing equine veterinarians. The group advocates on behalf of members to government and industry, while promoting evidence-based practice and sustainable careers. It maintains strong links with equine organisations and horse owners, helping to ensure the best possible health and welfare outcomes for horses across Australia.

“Being part of EVA is about more than resources. It is about collegiality, credibility, and community. It is where equine vets belong.”
