Product recall of chicken treat for dogs

KraMar Pet Food Company  has voluntarily withdrawn its dog treat Supa Naturals Chicken Breast Strips due to a suspected link with kidney problems in small dogs. A causal link has not yet been proven. Pet owners should monitor their dogs, and see a vet if the dog has increased drinking and urination, lethargy, diarrhoea or vomiting. Vets should report all suspected cases to the researchers who are investigating. The AVA can provide contact details. Read more.

National permethrin toxicity campaign

The AVA has launched a campaign to address concerns raised by members about the number of permethrin toxicity cases in cats being treated. With the arrival of flea and tick season, we need the help of all vets in small animal practice to make a difference. Read more.
