CONGRATULATIONS TREASURER, BUT MORE SUPPORT FOR VETERINARY SURGEONS NEEDED
The Australian Veterinary Association today congratulated the Treasurer on recognising the need for additional funding to improve the response to disease and pest incursions.

However the President, Dr Diane Sheehan, said that the AVA believes on closer inspection the Government will discover that more funding is needed.

One of Australia’s leading wildlife vets comes to SA
SA will host a series of seminars that provide support and information to veterinarians and carers who are deeply committed to the care and welfare of our wildlife.

Dr Anne Fowler, President of the Unusual and Exotic Pets Special Interest Group of the AVA and Senior Clinical Veterinary Registrar at the Wildlife Health Conservation Centre says that Australian veterinarians and wildlife carers do almost $30 million dollars of pro bono work each year. Each veterinary practice provides an average of $11,500* worth of pro bono work per year devoted to the treatment of wildlife.
