Continuing education

Vet Ed is the AVA’s national points system for recording and tracking continuing education activities.
It encourages members to meet and exceed their continuing education targets, and a Vet Ed statement is recognised by registration boards as evidence of completing registration requirements for continuing education activities

You can earn Vet Ed points by completing the AVJ quiz each month (either online or in print), private reading, formal study, online courses, attending events, and through work-related learning.

The clinical resources provided by AVA special interest groups keep you up to date on the latest practical tools and information that help you do your job better. With a range of educational events around the country, specialist journals and regular email communication, special interest groups provide crucial clinical continuing education services to their members.

There are around 130 continuing education events run by the AVA each year. Whether it’s a dinner speaker at your local branch or the 4-day Annual Conference with more than 800 attendees, the AVA’s events program is second to none in the country.

As a member, you’re entitled to significant discounts for AVA-organised continuing education events. You can also get special discounts for a range of online learning courses.
