Following the launch of a national search to find Australia’s next TV vet, the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) is reaching out to its 9,000 members and encouraging them to participate.

AVA President, Dr Robert Johnson said that the TV show represents a great avenue for the public to nominate a vet that’s made a difference, and an opportunity to highlight the value the veterinary profession makes to a range of communities and industries across all areas of animal health.

“Veterinary care is a very diverse area of medicine and involves everything from treating obese cats to pet sheep. Vets are responsible for managing phobias in dogs, emerging reptile diseases, global threats to the horse industry, and the future of biosecurity and animal welfare in Australia,” Dr Johnson said.

TV production company WTFN Entertainment, which created Bondi Vet and The Living Room, has called for the public’s help to find the next participants of Bondi Vet.

Daryl Talbot, the Chief Executive Officer of WTFN says it is very pleasing to have the support of the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) in the national search for a new TV vet.

“Ultimately, Bondi Vet is a show about educating people to look after their animals and also focusses on the relationship that they enjoy with them. We respect the core values of the AVA greatly and we are delighted to have their support,” Mr Talbot said.
