Students
Get a head start in your professional career before you graduate by tracking your learning activities outside university.
All AVA student members can participate in the Vet Ed points scheme and track their continuing professional development activities. You can then include your points statement with your resume when you are looking for work experience or starting to apply for jobs.
There are several ways students can participate in continuing professional development that don’t involve more study.
- Attending AVA events entitles you to Vet Ed points. The Vet Ed calendar has all the details about upcoming events near you where you can network with experienced members of your future profession.
- Test your knowledge each month with the Australian Veterinary Journal online quizzes to automatically earn points for successful completion.
- AVA groups run webinars and other online learning activities for students, and these will also earn you Vet Ed points. These are listed on the Vet Ed calendar.
- Join the AVA Mentor Program to earn Vet Ed points. The AVA Mentor Program Guide provides information about the program. Check the points allocation table for more information.
For AVA and Vet Ed approved activities, your points will be automatically uploaded to your Vet Ed statement if you're a member. For other continuing professional development, you can apply for points online as well as download your Vet Ed statement at any time.
