What is VetEd?

VetEd supports the continuing professional development (CPD) of AVA members by providing guidance on maintaining up-to-date professional standards and a means of recording your learning.

The AVA understands CPD as the education of veterinarians following completion of their formal training. It consists of any educational activity relevant to the scope of the veterinary profession, which helps to maintain, develop or increase knowledge, problem-solving or technical skills.

Most state registration boards require minimum levels of CPD activity to retain registration. Please confirm your state’s requirements with the individual Board.

Learn how the AVA supports your CPD, seek guidance on how to undertake CPD at work and find information on external CPD providers.

AVA members can upload their CPD points and download a CPD statement for registration requirements. External organisations can get their educational activities approved for VetEd points.

The VetEd calendar is the most comprehensive listing of veterinary events in Australia, with selected relevant international conferences, including all AVA events and other VetEd approved events.
AVA members can search the AVA Resource Library to access all major AVA publications, international journals and conference proceedings in the one place.
