- Biography
Associate Professor Zamira Gibb is an ARC Future Fellow and Director of the Centre for Reproductive Science at the University of Newcastle, where she leads the Livestock Fertility team. Her research focuses on livestock fertility, particularly in horses, spanning Thoroughbred fertility management, advanced diagnostics, assisted reproduction, gamete preservation and in vitro embryo production. She developed SpermSafe, a novel media platform for ambient-temperature storage of equine and bovine gametes, and provides stallion fertility diagnostics through BREED Diagnostics. Her work has a strong focus on industry adoption. Zamira is Treasurer of the International Society for Equine Reproduction and Secretary of the International Symposium on Stallion Reproduction.
