The AVA Victorian Division is active in lobbying government on issues relating to animal welfare and veterinary practice in Victoria.

With 2024 well underway, students are returning to universities including the DVM1 students at the University of Melbourne. I had the opportunity to welcome these students to the profession and introduce them to the AVA and the role it can play during their student years, and ongoing throughout their careers.
Agriculture Victoria has advised that Anthrax has been confirmed today as the cause of death in cattle on a second property located north-east of Shepparton.
The Department of Energy, environment and climate action (DEECA) have the information available to use.
Information has been distributed from the CVO (Agriculture Victoria). Anthrax has been confirmed as the cause of death in several animals on a single cattle property.
There are four courses being held in late February and March 2024.
