Meet keynote speaker Catherine Sturgeon
Veterinary surgeon Catherine Sturgeon graduated from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in London in 1994. After 11 years in primary accession practice she decided to focus on her passion – soft tissue surgery. She completed a surgical residency at the Royal Veterinary College and attained RCVS specialist status in soft tissue surgery in 2008. In 2014 she established Visiting Vet Specialists, servicing clients in the North and Northwest of England, Cumbria, Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire. She is an active member and President of the Association of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgeons, and advocates treating all pets with kindness and respectful consideration.
When not performing surgery, Catherine is a passionate teacher and loves helping veterinarians and nurses develop their practical skills.
Catherine will be presenting sessions in the Small Animal Stream which will appeal to surgeons of all abilities. She will share her tips so that veterinarians can optimise their existing approach to common presentations or manage surgically challenging cases confidently.
