About the 2019 AVA Annual Conference
Enjoy a world-class scientific program, with an array of streams catering to all interests. With around 1200 veterinary professionals expected to attend and an unrivalled social program, it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with colleagues from near and far.
Delegates can choose from 200 sessions eight concurrent streams covering the full spectrum of the veterinary profession.
One of the biggest contemporary challenges is food security. This year, Food Security Day will run on May 9, from 8am-4.30pm, to explore the role veterinarians can play in addressing this challenge. Experts from around the world will provide an inventory of the assets available to meet the needs of a growing population, and consider the environmental, welfare and biosecurity implications of meeting (or failing to meet) these needs.
If you missed the much talked about VetEd talks in 2018, fear not. Due to popular demand, these talks will now be held in a plenary session on Wednesday May 8. Eight shortlisted speakers will share their stories and insights as they talk about their passions in life, and what drives them as veterinarians. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house last year as colleagues shared their stories – some painful, some painfully hilarious – about everything from artificial intelligence to emotional intelligence, and practice management to pole-dancing. Find out what makes your colleagues tick.
And don’t forget to visit the trade show with over 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and innovations.
