In this talk, Dr Natasha Wilks (BVSC Dip Coaching CAPP) will take you through why mental wellbeing is critically important for the modern day veterinary practice. Dr Wilks will also share her personal story of how she overcame mental health challenges during her veterinary career, as well as detailing what support and tools are available to help you in this space.

Dr Natasha Wilks
Natasha Wilks is a Veterinarian with 17 years’ experience and an executive coach and trainer with 10 years’ experience. She has spoken at veterinary conferences nationally and trained veterinary practices both nationally and internationally; and is a contributing author to the 8th edition of the VetCoach book. Natasha is married with two gorgeous kids and enjoys living in the Redlands. Natasha is a volunteer speaker for beyondblue, a national organisation that works to raise awareness about anxiety and depression, reduce the associated stigma and encourage people to get help. She became a beyondblue speaker because she is passionate about positive mental health and reducing the stigma of mental illness. The veterinary profession has a very high rate of suicide, depression and anxiety and Natasha wants her colleagues and other professionals to seek help early. Natasha’s interests include travelling, exploring and heading to the galleries and museums.
