Learning outcome
By the end of the session the GP should have a solid grasp on localising lesions within the nervous system, and what tests to apply to get a useful diagnosis and treatment plan.

Dr Sam Long
Sam graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1996 and spent a brief stint in practice before returning to his alma mater to complete an internship.
Sam Long undertook his residency in neurology at the University of Glasgow, followed by a PhD in canine oncology.
He then moved to the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor in the neurology department at the Pennsylvania's Vet school.
In 2008 he returned to his hometown of Melbourne to start a neurology service at Melbourne University before moving into private practice in 2017.
Since 2020 he has been head of the neurology service at the Veterinary Referral Hospital, and continues to pursue his research interests in the field of canine brain tumours.”
Sam is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology.
