
Overview
This lecture reviews differences in otitis between cats and dogs including diagnostic approach with special focus on nasopharyngeal polyps. Otitis is typically a multifactorial disease process involving underlying predisposing diseases and subsequent secondary infections. While the basic principles of pathogenesis and treatment of otitis are similar in the cat and dog, there are significant differences in anatomy, aetiology and some disease syndromes between the species.
