Dr Christopher Lam
Dr Chris Lam graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Sydney in 2015 after previously obtaining a bachelor’s degree in biology and Japanese studies from the U.S. and subsequently working in human oncology research in Hong Kong. After obtaining his veterinary degree, he worked in a small animal general practice in Ballarat, Victoria followed by a small animal rotating internship at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in Guelph, Canada in 2016. After his internship, he started a mobile veterinary service in the High Western Arctic of Canada, where he also provided veterinary care for various international sled dog races including the thousand mile long Yukon Quest. Chris relocated back to Australia in 2018 where he practiced as a locum vet across NSW and Victoria. In 2019, he commenced a 3-year American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) clinical residency under Veterinary Cardiologists Australia (VCA) at Veterinary Specialist Services (VSS) in Brisbane/Gold Coast and became a Diplomate of the ACVIM and registered specialist in Veterinary Cardiology in 2022. Since then, Chris has continued to provide hospital-based referral cardiac care from VSS in Queensland alongside the rest of the VCA team as part of the largest veterinary cardiac service in Australia. While not at work, Chris enjoys spending time in the outdoors as well as exploring various musical and culinary experiences with his family. They also have a beautiful cat Eric, who is very much enjoying every bit of retirement life having worked as a full-time blood donor at University of Sydney for much of his younger life.
