On-Demand | ASAV and AVBM Webinar | Medications for Mental Health: What to use and How to use it | Dr Jacqui Ley 1 CPD Points

Overview

You diagnosed a behaviour problem and started the dog on Fluoxetine. But why doesn't Fluoxetine stop the dog from being aggressive? Patients with mental health disorders often need medication as part of veterinary psychiatric treatment plans. It is important to understand the mode of action of the medications to use them effectively. We will consider the main actions of classes of medications used for treating common mental illnesses and developmental disorders in animals. Species differences will be considered as well as strategies for getting the stuff into the patient as this can be harder than deciding what medication to use.
