On-Demand | ACV Sponsored Webinar | Current innovations in bovine OPU and IVF: From the oocyte to the embryo
9 September, 2025 @ 8:00 pm - 9 September, 2026 @ 9:00 pm AEST
Free - $50.00
This webinar will provide insights into both the ‘big’ and ‘little’ picture of in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and embryo production (IVP) in cattle — from the collection of oocytes, through to laboratory fertilisation and embryo development, to transfer, pregnancy, and (hopefully) the birth of a live calf. We’ll explore the key steps in the process relevant to bovine veterinarians, with a focus on trying to understand why losses may occur and how current research is targeting improvements. Topics will focus on specifically the animal and veterinary side of IVP including refined ovarian stimulation protocols and their benefits, and Ovum Pick-up (OPU) collection techniques. Whether you’re new to bovine IVF or seeking the latest updates, you’ll hopefully come away with a preliminary understanding of both the science and the practical application of this powerful reproductive technology.
