On-Demand CPV Webinar | Best practices in controlling coccidiosis using live vaccines

9 July, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 10 July, 2026 @ 11:30 pm AEST

Free - $50.00

Poultry are susceptible to several species of Eimeria, which can cause enteric disease characterised by poor gut health and integrity, morbidity, poor weight gain, poor uniformity, dehydration, and mortality. Eimeria species have a complex lifecycle without intermediate hosts. Both lateral and vertical transmission (mechanical contamination by oocysts) can occur, potentially leading to severe outbreaks, although they are often mild and subclinical causing significant economic losses worldwide. In this webinar, we will examine the latest research on coccidia species and the precise diagnosis of this disease, which impacts the digestive system of birds. Additionally, we will explore the available prevention and control strategies to ensure effective disease management.

Moderator:
Dr Robin Achari (CPV President)

Speakers:
Dr Vladimir Vrba is a molecular biologist specialising in industrial research and development of animal vaccines, particularly for Eimeria species (coccidiosis). As the Process Innovation Manager at Eimeria Pty Ltd in Australia, he focuses on next-generation vaccine manufacturing technologies, including automation, diagnostics and AI integration. He holds a PhD from Charles University in Prague and has published extensively on Eimeria.
Dr Vrba will be speaking on practical applications of proper diagnostics.

Dr Monita Vereecken PhD is a poultry veterinarian and technical manager at Huvepharma. She graduated from the University of Veterinary Science in Ghent, Belgium, and has worked in the poultry industry since. She is also the secretary and treasurer of the Belgian branch of the World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA). For 17 years, she has supported poultry products at Huvepharma.
