Dr. Gary Turnbull BVSc (Hons)
Gary Turnbull attained his Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney in 1995. After three years of companion animal practice in suburban Sydney, Gary and his wife Priscilla, who is also a veterinarian, purchased a practice in Port Macquarie on the mid-north coast of NSW. Gary has now been the Director of the East Port Veterinary Hospital for eighteen years. It is an ASAV Accredited Hospital of Excellence which has won a multitude of local and national business awards and was inducted into the Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame.
Under the mentorship of Paul Ainsworth, Gary joined the Lincoln Institute in 2014. He has dedicated the past 10 years to studying personal and organisational leadership. Implementing the principles taught by the Lincoln Institute has allowed Gary to step away from clinical work and focus on training colleagues in the realm of leadership whilst leading his own team of twenty-one.
Gary is now a recognised and respected speaker and facilitator in the fields of veterinary practice management and leadership, veterinary business models, and life-balance strategies. Gary delivered the 2015 AVBA ‘On the Move’ series: Leading Change in your Practice. He also developed the Goldmine Veterinary Dental Program which he has presented internationally. Outside of work Gary’s highest priority is family time and chasing the ultimate wave.
