Nominations open for ASAV Awards

Each year, the ASAV Awards honour the best small animal veterinary practitioners across Australia. 

Award Categories:

  • ASAV Practitioner of the Year

  • The John Holt Distinguished Service Award

  • ASAV Award for Scientific Excellence

  • Atwell Award for Best Case Report *

  • Atwell Award for Best Original Study *

* This award is selected by a panel, including the editor of the Australian Veterinary Practitioner, based on certain criteria and eligibility for submission(s) published.


All awards will be presented at the Awards Dinner at the 47th ASAV Annual Conference on Wednesday, 27 July 2022 at the Darwin Convention Centre, NT.

Applications open for the ASAV Student Scholarships


The ASAV Student Scholarships offer our student members valuable continuing education as well as an opportunity to network with like-minded professionals at the ASAV Annual Conference. You’ll hear talks from some of the best on cutting-edge veterinary issues, learn about significant new findings in the industry, plus you’ll have the opportunity to network with other AVA members, ASAV members, students, guest speakers and graduates. It’s a great opportunity to make valuable new contacts.

There are up to four ASAV Student Scholarships on offer for the 2022 ASAV Annual Conference, which will be held at the Darwin Convention Centre from 24 - 28 July 2022.

We urge all our ASAV student members to apply for this scholarship to benefit from an outstanding continuing education program and the amazing networking opportunities associated with it.
