AVA Presidents Column

Dr Colgan highlights two important AVA initiatives and connects with our regional neighbours on issues including workforce shortages and continuing professional development.

A highlight this month was connecting with colleagues in the UK to exchange insights, deepen my understanding of the unique challenges they face, and gain a greater appreciation for their extensive advocacy efforts.

The last month has seen AVA President Dr Sally Colgan connecting with a wide range of Australian stakeholders and international counterparts. 

The AVA's mission is clear: to provide veterinarians with the support, resources, and the respect they need to uphold welfare standards in every endeavour.

It is an honour to have been elected President of the AVA and I thank the Board for trusting me with this role.
