Australian Veterinary Journal moving to fully online format from January 2024

15 Dec 2023

The Australian Veterinary Journal (AVJ) enjoys an illustrious reputation – since the very first issue in 1925 it has been leading the way in Australian veterinary science through peer-reviewed research papers. The AVJ’s influence in the Australian veterinary space is strong and continues to grow.

The AVJ is ISI and MEDLINE listed and has an international readership, with 11 issues published each year. You are welcome to submit case studies, research or book reviews for peer-reviewed publication via Manuscript Central.

From 1 January 2024 the AVJ is joining the global scientific publication community in its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint by moving to a fully digital format.

We know that most researchers access their content online and more flexible digital content is changing the way the scholarly community interacts with research. AVJ content is on track to be downloaded more than 275,000 times from Wiley Online Library – these numbers illustrate that the AVJ has a healthy online readership base that continues to grow year on year.

Most of the issues published since 1925 are available via the Wiley Online library. AVA members are able to access the full articles of the AVJ via their AVA’s corporate access. Log into your My AVA portal via the AVA website, and enter the Library and Resources tab to obtain full access to AVJ articles.

To stay up to date with the latest research published in AVJ, sign up for content alerts straight to your inbox here. Individual article metrics such as downloads and citations are available online so you can track the impact and engagement of your publication and those that interest you.

In addition to the AVJ, the AVA also features publications for Equine, Cattle, Small Animal and Sheep medicine, published by our Special Interest Groups.

We hope you continue to enjoy reading the AVJ each month and thank you again for your ongoing support.
