Indicators of a Thriving Workplace – 2023 Key Insights

08 Dec 2023

In 2021 the AVA commissioned workplace mental health experts, SuperFriend, to undertake research into the mental health and wellbeing of the veterinary workforce. This included building an understanding of psychosocial risk and protective factors in the industry, and gathering input and insights into potential initiatives, interventions, and solutions to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the profession. This research has gone on to inform the work of our THRIVE veterinary wellness initiative and advocacy agenda.

SuperFriend have recently published their latest report Indicators of Thriving Workplace Survey – 2023 Key Insights.

This is the ninth year of the survey which benchmarks the state of workplace mental health and wellbeing in Australia. Although not veterinary specific, the report contains a wealth of information for businesses to assess their own performance in areas of leadership, connectedness, work design, safety and capability.

The AVA encourages all veterinarians to complete our 2023 Workforce Survey, to enable us to compile industry specific data on these, and other, important areas.
