Wildlife triage, treatment, and euthanasia training
February 1 @ 8:00 am - December 31 @ 5:00 pm AEST

The course is a 2 hour training session within veterinary clinics across South-East Queensland. The course is set out as a structured program that is run through in each individual clinic which teaches staff how to triage, treat, and euthanise wildlife.
There are many aspects of the course that are specifically applicable to vets, as they are the only ones that can conduct and/or authorise certain treatments. However, all veterinary staff can attend and learn valuable information from this. The clinic is supplied with many resources after the session, including an in-depth medication list for individual species.
The course focuses on triaging, treatment, analgesia, euthanasia, and the legislation applicable to wildlife in Queensland, and is designed to encourage staff, particularly vets, to treat wildlife to create better outcomes.
Who should attend
Veterinarians, veterinary nurses and veterinary receptionists.
Learning outcomes
Participants will increase their confidence and competence with regards to working with wildlife. This is highly practical course, utilising animal models, and includes a quiz at the end of the session.
