Zoetis Equine Retreat Survival Skills for Recent Grads June 24 – 26, Mulgoa

Zoetis understands how hard the first few years of equine practice can be, and we want to support you through it.

The Zoetis Equine Recent Graduates Retreat is FREE for recent grads working (or wanting to work) in equine practice. All meals and accommodation are provided. Transport is your only cost. Network with your peers and with experienced vets. Create relationships that can help you through the hard times.

Most horse vets love being horse vets. It’s the other parts of the job that are a struggle. That is what we want to help you with.

The Retreat brings together a group of recent grads from across the country. Designed to create connections and build support networks, more than 70 vets have attended in the past, and all of them recommend the retreat to colleagues and peers.

Dr Cathy Warburton, veterinarian and vet well-being coach, leads us for the 3 days. Bringing her curiosity and compassion, Cathy helps attendees uncover their hidden strengths and offers tools to help on the bad days. Includes communication skills, with horse owners, co-workers and your boss.

Dr Madalen Baltussen will share wellness skills, including yoga sessions and stress relief exercises that are simple to do in field after a difficult case, or in the lunch room after a stressful interaction. These really do make a difference!

There will also be several short clinical lectures from our other mentors on topics that could include: wound care, podiatry and basic dentistry.
