Exploring the feasibility of using an existing human laboratory to analyse the microbiome of dogs. The aim was to use these results to guide clinical intervention for canine patients with chronic enteropathies in practice. The limitations and clinical applications will be discussed.
Dr Kelly Halls is a veterinarian with over 20 years’ experience in small animal practice with a special interest in integrative medicine. A 2002 honours graduate from the University of Queensland, she has worked across companion, equine, production, and emergency practice in Australia and the UK. In 2015, she founded Bentons Road Veterinary Clinic on the Mornington Peninsula, where she combines conventional medicine with natural therapies to deliver holistic care. Kelly’s interests include nutritional medicine, vaccine antibody testing, microbiome health, and the safe integration of complementary therapies. She serves on the IVA Executive and AVA Policy Advisory Council and regularly presents to veterinary and pet-owner audiences.
