On 31 July 2026, the Minns Labour Government announced new scholarships to support veterinary students undertaking regional placements in NSW.
The initiative is a direct response to veterinary workforce pressures the AVA has been advocating for some time, with the Government citing AVA data on persistent regional workforce shortages as part of the evidence for the program.
