Acupuncture

Community of veterinarians providing additional options to support their patients

The Australian Veterinary Acupuncture Group (AVAG) brings together veterinarians interested in acupuncture and integrative approaches to care, from those just starting out to experienced practitioners. Members use acupuncture alongside conventional medicine to support pain management, recovery and a range of clinical presentations across species.

AVAG offers a connected community, access to high-quality CPD and recognised training pathways, and the support needed to integrate acupuncture into clinical work with confidence.

If you’re looking to expand your clinical toolkit and develop a more integrated approach to patient care, AVAG is where you can build your skills, connect with peers and apply acupuncture in a practical, evidence-informed way.

The AVAG is led by a group of dedicated volunteers of your peers. We are professionals who are passionate about using acupuncture alongside conventional medicine in support of our patients’ health journeys.

Why join AVAG?

Community and Connection

Connect with peers who understand your clinical approach.

AVAG connects you with veterinarians who are also integrating acupuncture into their work. Whether you’re looking for a second opinion, practical advice, or reassurance as you build your skills, there’s a community here that understands how acupuncture fits into clinical care.

Through the AVA Online Member Hub (Circle), members can opt into a dedicated, member-only space to ask questions, share cases and connect in a supportive and trusted environment.

AVAG also brings members together in person throughout the year, creating opportunities to connect beyond the screen.

  • AVAG Circle community: a private space for discussion, case sharing and peer support
  • Biannual workshops: in-person opportunities to connect with peers
  • Social events at the AVA Annual Conference: a chance to connect during the national conference

From foundational learning through to advanced practice, AVAG supports your development with education that is practical, relevant and grounded in clinical application.
