Australia’s cattle veterinarians are gearing up for the 2026 Australian Cattle Veterinarians (ACV) Conference. Scheduled for 23- 25 March 2026 at the Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane, also known as the Ekka Showgrounds, this year’s conference promises science, collaboration, and community.
With the theme centred on bovine reproduction and herd health management, the program has been developed in partnership with Australian Reproductive Vets (ARV) and Australian Vets in Public Health (AVPH), ensuring a comprehensive and forward-looking exploration of the most pressing topics in cattle health.

“This year’s program really showcases the best of what our profession has to offer, from cutting-edge reproductive science to practical strategies for herd health management,” said Ian McDonald, AVA’s National Manager of Special Interest Groups.
Delegates can look forward to a diverse scientific program of expert speakers like Ced Wise, Karl Kerns and Kilian Simmet, alongside hands-on workshops and masterclasses. These sessions will allow participants to deepen their technical expertise and apply new insights directly to field work.
“Our pre and post conference workshops are a real highlight,” McDonald added. “They give vets the chance to refine skills in a collaborative setting and walk away with techniques they can use immediately on-farm.”

Beyond the scientific sessions, the 2026 ACV Conference will also feature a vibrant social program designed to foster connection among peers. Networking events, dinners, and informal gatherings including the Young Vets Dinner and Gala Awards Dinner will celebrate the camaraderie that makes Australia’s cattle veterinary community so strong.
“We know how valuable these opportunities are, it’s where ideas blossom, professional relationships grow, and friendships are formed,” McDonald said.
Delegate registrations are now open, and spots for workshops and masterclasses are expected to fill quickly. Early bird closes 2 March 2026.
