With the Victorian state election coming up in November, the AVA has developed its priorities for the veterinary profession in Victoria.
The AVA makes several impactful but financially modest proposals for the Victorian context under the five following priority themes:
- Veterinary workforce and students
- Mental health support
- Regulation and legislation improvements
- Funding equity for veterinarians
- Animal health and welfare
The AVA advocacy team and the Victorian Divisional committee has begun advocating to the Victorian parliament on these priorities, having a meeting with Deputy Leader of the Nationals and Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Mental Health, Emma Kealy (see picture below).
