Welcoming the AVA NT Division Executive Committee

The AVA is pleased to confirm the AVA NT Division Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term.

The Division Executive Committee plays a vital role in shaping and delivering advocacy, professional support, and engagement for members at a divisional level. The incoming Committee brings a strong mix of experience, passion and commitment to representing members and advancing the veterinary profession.

Your 2026–2028 Division Executive Committee

We congratulate the following members on their appointment:

President: Amy Harding

Committee Members:

  • Marie Montgomery-Quin
  • Alex Burleigh
  • Alex Hesford
  • Melanie Colville
  • Amanda Dunn
  • Anna Sri

Thanks also to members who are undertaking other important roles:

Branch Key Contact: Kim Smith

Each of these members has generously volunteered their time to support members, contribute to Division or Branch activities, and advocate for the profession. We thank them for stepping forward.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Kathy Moylan who served in the previous term.

Recognising the impact of AVA Advocacy

As the new Committee begins its work, we encourage members to take a moment to reflect on what collective advocacy can achieve. In 2025, the AVA delivered a wide range of advocacy outcomes across national and divisional levels, addressing critical issues including workforce sustainability, regulatory reform, biosecurity, professional wellbeing and animal welfare.

A detailed 2025 Advocacy Retrospective outlining this work is available here. This document highlights the impact of member-led advocacy and provides valuable context for the priorities that will be continued.

Get Involved: Casual vacancies available

Please note that casual vacancies currently exist on the NT Division Executive Committee. These positions can be filled at any time during the term and represent a great opportunity for members to become more involved in shaping the future of the profession. Serving on a Division Executive Committee is a rewarding way to give back, develop leadership skills, and help ensure that member voices are heard.
