Intravenous fluids are often considered a standard of care for anaesthetised patients. However ‘one size fits all’ fluid therapy is likely to be ‘one size fits none’. This webinar will discuss peri-operative fluids with a focus on patients undergoing elective surgery. Discussion will include aims, limitations and risks of peri-operative fluids; and adapting fluid therapy in response to common anaesthetic complications.

Chris is a Senior Lecturer and leader of the Veterinary Anaesthesia team at the School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences, Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga NSW.
His work at CSU includes teaching, research and clinical practice in both equine and small animal hospitals.
Research and clinical interests include peri-operative renal function and kidney injury; anaesthesia and critical care of horses and other large herbivores.- Job title
