Join speaker Dr Leanne Begg for a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and friends, enjoy dinner and drinks, and engage in thought-provoking discussions on equine health!
Dr Begg will be presenting on , The Coughing Horse – We will discuss the origin of coughing in the horse, followed by diagnostic workup of these cases including how to distinguish infectious causes of coughing from asthma. Treatment for all causes of coughing in the horse will also be covered, and Tips from 40 years in Racetrack Practice – We will discuss strategies to cope with surviving long term in Racetrack Practice followed by some tips on the diagnosis and treatment of some common Racetrack specific conditions, including a bit of myth busting.

- Dr Leanne Begg
- Biography
Leanne Begg graduated from University of Queensland in 1987, then completed an Internship at University of Sydney in 1988 under the late Prof David Hutchins. She was then employed as an Associate at Randwick Equine Centre (REC) from 1989 to 1991. She
then completed a Residency in Equine Medicine at Michigan State University from 1991-1994, as well as receiving a Master of Science degree. Leanne became a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Medicine in 1994 and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 1995. She returned to Randwick Equine Centre in 1994 as a Partner. Leanne has been the Stable Veterinarian for Mrs Gai Waterhouse for the past 25 years as well as consulting on Equine Medicine cases at the REC Specialist Equine Centre at Horsley Park. She is the current NSW representative of the EVA.
