- Biography
Jacintha Wilmink graduated in 1991, worked for 8 years at the Department of Equine Sciences of Utrecht University, did a residence in equine surgery and a PhD on equine wound healing. Since 2003, she runs Woumarec (i.e. wound management and reconstruction) fully focused on specialized wound surgery, consultancy and research. She is president of the Veterinary Wound Healing Association and plays a leading role in the collaboration with EWMA and the Equine Wound Centre structure in Europe.
Her mission: translating scientific knowledge to practice thus improving wound management for the benefit of the future and welfare of the animal, the owner, and job satisfaction of veterinarians.
