The NSW Government is currently seeking feedback on their Biosecurity Strategy. The draft Strategy is currently open for feedback from the public.
The draft NSW Biosecurity Strategy presents a new whole-of-government framework for cooperative and collaborative action to uplift and improve the system. The draft Strategy sets out priorities and actions across four focus areas:
- strengthening adoption and compliance with the biosecurity duty
- driving partnerships and collaboration to support cross-tenure and cross-sector outcomes nationally, state-wide, regionally and locally
- delivering an agile and strategic approach to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from risks
- improving the biosecurity systems and infrastructure that enable coordinated, dynamic approaches to planning, surveillance and compliance It reinforces that a strong biosecurity system is the result of collective efforts by all its stakeholders, which is why we want to hear from you.
The veterinary sector plays a critical role in biosecurity, with producers, supply chain businesses, and workers on the frontline, managing these risks through daily practices.

- Forward comments to the AVA to assist in the development of the AVA submission. Comment should be forwarded to graham.pratt@ava.com.au by Monday 27 July.
