Integrative Veterinarians Australia introduce Cancer Research Bursary

Each year, the Integrated Veterinarians Australia (IVA) Special Interest Group of the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) awards a $1,000 bursary to support and encourage projects, research, and science-based communications related to integrative veterinary medicine. We are delighted to introduce a second bursary: the Dogs in Sync IVA Integrative Cancer Research Bursary, Advancing evidence-based integrative oncology for the veterinary community.

Dogs in Sync IVA Integrative Cancer Research Bursary

This bursary provides financial support for the development and dissemination of high-quality research that helps veterinarians better understand the role, efficacy, and evidence behind complementary therapies in cancer care.

By encouraging rigorous investigation and clear communication, the bursary aims to:

  • Advance scientific knowledge in integrative veterinary oncology
  • Promote evidence-based approaches to cancer treatment and supportive care
  • Support the recognition of safe and effective integrative therapies within veterinary medicine
  • Improve access to reliable information for the broader veterinary community

IVA Research Bursary

The IVA Research Bursary supports the preparation of educational and research-based material that informs veterinarians about the use, effectiveness, and scientific validity of complementary therapies.

Projects may contribute to:

  • The scientific understanding of integrative therapies
  • Evidence-based veterinary practice
  • Greater recognition and acceptance of integrative treatment modalities
