51st ASAV Annual Conference – Together with VBG Wrap Up!

The Joys of General Practice 17 – 20 August 2026, Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort

More than 430 veterinary professionals, including over 260 veterinarians gathered on the Sunshine Coast from 17–20 August 2026 for the 51^st ASAV Annual Conference, held alongside the Veterinary Business Group (VBG).

This year’s theme, ‘The Joys of General Practice’, delivered a fantastic program of practical, case-focused sessions covering topics including anaesthesia, euthanasia and the management of chronic illness. Delegates took away practical tips, valuable insights and new ideas to bring straight back to their clinics.

From a dynamic scientific program featuring leading national and international experts, to a world-class industry exhibition showcasing the latest innovations in veterinary medicine, the conference was packed with opportunities to learn, connect and be inspired. Whether attending thought-provoking lectures, participating in hands-on masterclasses, exploring the exhibition, or catching up with colleagues at our social events, there was something for everyone.

Above all, it was the unrivalled collegiality that made the week so memorable. The conference brought together a vibrant community of like-minded veterinary professionals with a shared passion for learning, collaboration and advancing the profession. It was a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge and experiences, celebrate our achievements and strengthen the connections that make our veterinary community so special.

ASAV & VBG Awards Gala Dinner – The Winners

The ASAV & VBG Awards Gala Dinner was a wonderful celebration of the outstanding achievements and contributions of our veterinary profession, recognising excellence, leadership, innovation and dedication across the industry.

This year’s theme, ‘Colour Me Happy’, invited guests to embrace a celebration of colour, creativity and connection – and they certainly rose to the occasion! The room came alive with bold, bright and vibrant outfits, creating a fun and energetic atmosphere that perfectly captured the spirit of the evening.

It was a fantastic night of celebration, laughter and recognition, providing a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate the people who make such an important contribution to our profession.
