Australia’s most prestigious awards for veterinary professionals

The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) is seeking AVA Members to join the AVA Awards Committee. For more than 100 years, the AVA has represented the collective voice of the veterinary profession. The AVA Awards exist to celebrate the individuals who embody that voice, those who go above and beyond in service of the profession, the animals in their care and the communities they serve. The AVA Awards are a signal to our emerging leaders, innovators, scientists and researchers that excellence in the profession is valued and rewarded.

The Awards Committee purpose is to promote, encourage, and supervise the nominations process of the AVA Awards. The committee seeks to raise awareness of, and celebrate, the achievements of veterinarians and veterinary professionals across Australia, thereby fostering pride and engagement within the veterinary profession.

Who should apply?

The AVA is inviting veterinarian members from clinical and non-clinical, at early and mid-career stages, from people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as individuals with lived experience across disability, age, gender identity, sexual orientation or neurodiversity to express interest in joining our Awards Committee to fill one vacancy at this time.

The volunteer role would involve:

  • Promoting and facilitating nominations for the AVA Awards.
