During the annual Sheep, Camelid & Goat Veterinarians conference, there is an opportunity to nominate an exceptional SCGV member in recognition of their outstanding support of the small ruminant veterinary profession. The award recognises an SCGV member who shows continued dedication to the SCGV and fellow members; and who gives back to the profession through mentorship and volunteering.

Hugh Gordon Memorial Lectures
Many newly graduated veterinarians have a keen desire to make a positive contribution to their profession through publication and presentation, and as a result gain peer recognition.
SCGV’s memorial lectures are named in honour of the late Hugh Gordon, a world-renowned veterinary parasitologist who made a major contribution to the sheep industry throughout the world and to the Sheep, Camelid & Goat Veterinarians (then known as the Australian Sheep Veterinarians) in its early years.

The presentation subject must focus on a sheep, camelid or goat medicine/science topic and centre on:
- research or trial outcomes
- a case study of an interesting case(s)
- innovative approaches to age old issues; or
- tips and tricks.
Requirements of the conference presentation:
- 20 minute presentation, plus 10 minutes for Q&A
- PowerPoint presentation (well formatted, ease of reading, appropriate use of referenced graphics, images, videos and figures, and declaration of interest)
