Dr Shelby Chew
MANZCVS (Medicine & Surgery of Unusual Pets), BVetBiol, DVMDr Shelby graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She then spent time at various exotics, zoo, and wildlife clinics, including one in South Africa. From there, she spent two years as a small animal and shelter veterinarian in Sydney and, in 2021, joined the Bird & Exotics team (now the Unusual Pet Vets).
Shelby loves all creatures great and small but has a soft spot for birds and rabbits. She is especially passionate about animal welfare.She was a recipient of the Stephen Ross Memorial Scholarship in 2023, where she presented her paper “A Case of Pulmonary and Airsac Proteinosis in a Green-Cheeked Conure (Pyrrhura molinae)” at the Unusual Pet and Avian Veterinarians conference.”
