- Biography
Professional Journey - Jess wanted to be a veterinarian from the moment she could walk and talk. Growing up on her family farm she grew to have a strong love and compassion for all creatures. This only grew stronger with the many exotic pets and wildlife animals they cared for over the years.
Dr Jess graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 2023. Following her graduation she completed a rotating internship at UQ cycling through anaesthesia, surgery, internal medicine and best of all exotics! During this time she was able to hone many different skills and had the wonderful opportunity to teach many different students. In 2025 Jess decided to make the change from teaching to a new practice with lots to teach her, her home is now at Brisbane Bird and Exotics in Greenslopes. Here she is continuing to develop her skills and care for creatures of all sizes.
Pets at Home - Jess’ collection of animals started when she was young and has only grown substantially since she started vet school. Currently at home she has a Staffy mix called Koda, two rascally cats named Janice and Susan and her rescue shingleback Egg.
