Be part of the community that supports the people who feed the world
The Australian Cattle Veterinarians (ACV) brings together professionals passionate about cattle health, productivity, and welfare. Our members span private practice, government and quarantine services, research, industry, and animal health companies – and we actively welcome veterinary students and allied professionals who want to build their future in cattle practice.
As an ACV member, you’re contributing to work that truly matters: safeguarding Australia’s disease free status, strengthening biosecurity and surveillance, and supporting sustainable livestock production. Members play a vital role in protecting animal health and welfare while helping producers thrive.
We’re also committed to your professional growth, including our tailored annual conference, regular expert webinars, regional workshops, and a broad suite of clinical and client ready resources. ACV membership is open to all AVA members with an interest in cattle work, with selected resources reserved exclusively for veterinarians, including our BULLCHECK and PREGCHECK programs.

Online forums and in person events to keep you connected year on year.
Through the AVA Member Hub, you can be connected with your community of peers all in one place. You can contact members via private message or in multiple online communities dedicated to the sector.
We also have our annual conference in March where we come together at evening social events including our infamous gala dinner and awards night, where we celebrate and acknowledge our peers doing great things. There is also a cattle stream at the AVA Conference in May, which provides another opportunity to mix and mingle with colleagues.
To top things off, we have a regular monthly newsletter jam packed with tailored information, with a foreword message from the President and all your relevant cattle vet information in one digest. Plus we have a committee member dedicated to posting relevant content to our Facebook page.

And we also have a strong connection with our new grad members through a dedicated new grad officer who sits on the executive committee ensuring our events and programming has strong linkages with our new grad member needs..
