PetPEP (Pets and People Education Program) Coordinator Training
AVA PetPEP is the Australian Veterinary Association’s Pets and People Education Program. An education initiative that teaches children about responsible pet ownership and safety around animals. The program was developed by veterinarians and teachers to promote safe, healthy and responsible communities through a focus on how to interact with, understand and care for animals.
Responsible pet owners are the cornerstone of local veterinary practices, and AVA PetPEP is an inspirational investment in the pet owners of the future.
Who should attend
This course is aimed at veterinary practice staff who need to coordinate PetPEP primary school visits for PetPEP presenters at their practice.
Learning outcomes
The purpose of this course is to provide the training, tools and resources to veterinary practice personnel, responsible for coordinating PetPEP visits to schools. The course contains the following sections.
- SECTION 1 | Presenter Education | where you’ll find your online training module. The purpose of the module is to enable participants to:
- Adopt and follow AVA’s Risk Management Strategy
- Access and use/prepare PetPEP coordinator, presenter and promotional resources
- Book primary school visits for PetPEP presenters in your practice
- Create and send an information pack to a primary school
- SECTION 2 | PetPEP Resources | where you’ll find all PetPEP activities and resources.
- SECTION 3 | Certificate and Feedback | where you’ll access your certificate of achievement following completion of Section 1 activities, and is where you can provide feedback about your experience following completion of this course.
